Oh so easy DIY shirt embellishment

Before:

Step One: Cut out a circle.
Step Two: Sew big stitches around the edge.

Step Three: Gather the stitch in the center.

Step Four: Close and tie knot.

Step Five: Sew on to a shirt or cardigan and TA DA!

Here the finished shirt I embellished for Eden..
After:

Here is another great idea...

So many patterns and possibilities.

Sophie's Tip: Remember to use Fray Check on the edges if the fabric frays, so when you wash it it wont unravel. Lay flat to dry to keep the form looking the best.

These are called "YoYo's" and you can look up all sorts of ways to be creative with them. Send in some of your creations and I would love to post them here.

love, love, love, LOVE! Seriously! These are so fun. My mind is spinning with the color and pattern and usage opportunities! My new favorite thing are these satin roses. You can mix it up with toole and even animal print fabrics too...I'll send you a pic on my phone next time I do it. I also have been buying GIANT fake flowers wherever I can get my hands on them and splitting them up into 3 different hair pretty's; Big for Ash, Medium for Bryn, and Bitty for Kimbree...this way I have three similar hair pretty's but I like to give them each a unique flare...sequin in this one, antique button in that one...I love this site Sophie!
